Policies and Procedures
The Registered Vermont Builders and Remodelers Program will help your Customers
know you are a concerned business in good standing through the use of the
Registered Vermont Builder/Remodeler name and logo. To become a Registered
Vermont Builder/Remodeler you must complete a simple application process to
become a member of Registered Vermont Builder/Remodeler, Inc. You will be
required to reapply for this registration annually.
The Program’s requirements are:
_ You must agree to sign and follow the Code of Conduct and Ethics of the
Registered
_ You must not be a “moonlighter”, but a full-time builder/remodeler with a
minimum experience of two (2) year in business. You must derive your principle
income (75% of gross annual) from this building business.
_ You must have an FEIN on file with IRS, a business tax number with the
Tax Department and an account number with the Federal and
Unemployment offices to do business in
_ You must agree that all work that you perform shall be in accordance with all
applicable state and local codes and permit requirements.
_ You shall purchase and maintain insurance of the following types and limits of
liability:
1) Commercial General Liability (CGL) with limits of insurance not less than
$1,000,000 each occurrence and $2,000,000 annual aggregate.
a) CGL coverage shall be written on ISO Occurrence form CG00 01
10/93 or a substitute form providing equivalent coverage and shall
cover liability arising from premise and operations, independent
contractors, products-completed operations and personal and
advertising injury and liability assumed under an insured contract
(including the tort liability of another assumed in a business
contract).
2) Automobile Liability
a) Business auto liability with limits not less than $1,000,000 each
accident.
b) Business auto coverage must include coverage for the liability
arising out the use of all owned, leased, hired and non-owned
automobiles.
3) Workers Compensation and Employers Liability
a) Employers Liability insurance limits of at least $500,000 each
accident for bodily injury by accident and $500,000 each employee
for injury by disease.
You must provide upon application and annually thereafter Registered
Builder/Remodeler, Inc. program with; a current Insurance Certificate
listing the non-profit corporation RVB/R, Inc. as a “Certificate Holder” to
remain in good standing.
_ You must agree to attend a five (5)-hour basic builder’s course within three (3)
months of your acceptance. You will also agree to attend an annual Registered
Builders/Remodelers refresher course.
_ You must fill out the registration form; file it with the required fee. You will be
notified of your acceptance to the program within 30 days.
